Aircraft FAQs

Inquiring minds want to know! How many people can go? How far can you take us? Can we go to ______? Perhaps you'll find an answer to your question here. If not, please call us and we'd be happy to let you in on all the juicy details!

General Points of Interest

  • If you have not flown in a 'small' plane before, you are in for a treat! Unlike the airlines, you can see all around you, and have a better sense of what's going on.

  • We are licensed and regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration. If we can't do something, we won't. If we can, we will. Just ask!

  • The aircraft have strict weight and balance limitations. More people and baggage means less fuel. Sometimes the fuel is better to take.

  • There is no smoking in or around the aircraft. Something about flammability and enclosed spaces.

  • If you make a mess and/or trash the aircraft, you will be charged $200.00 for cleaning it up. Grease and lots of mud are candidates.

  • Failure to use the free sick sacks when needed will certainly trigger the $200.00 cleanup fee.

  • Aircraft Charter

  • We can take you to thousands of airports, rather than the few hundred the airlines serve. Small towns, large cities, wherever, whenever. It's your schedule.

  • Large cities have many airports. Let us know where your destination is in the city, and we'll do our best to save you some time and cab fare.

  • Chartering an aircraft is like having your own personal plane and someone to fly it, too! We don't leave until everyone in your party is ready, and we don't lose luggage!

  • We can take an aerial tour of your house, plant, job site, or a point of interest. Just let us know what you'd like to do, and we'll do our best to accomodate it.

  • We don't takeoff in thunderstorms or freezing rain, no matter how late you're running. That's not cold-hearted or rude, it's just plain smart!

  • Charter flights have an hour and a half (1 1/2) minimum time per day.

  • Aircraft Rental and Instruction

  • Nothing is required to start learning how to fly. Only desire and the ability to reach the rudder pedals.

  • Some medical conditions will prevent you from becoming a pilot. Many will not. We'll help you find the answers you need.

  • An aircraft checkout is required for all airplane rentals. We need to see if you can really fly as well as you say you can.

  • If you want to tie up the airplane all day, you must fly it at least an hour and a half (1 1/2).

  • By the way, all day is considered six (6) hours or more. We have special clocks to prove it.

  • Yes, you must observe all FAA regulations if you rent an airplane from us. Not because the insurance company says so, it's because it's our airplane.

  • The airplanes are rented wet (with fuel and oil). We will reimburse your fuel and oil purchases at our current rates if you bring us a receipt. No receipt means no credit.

  • We will not reimburse you for landing fees, tiedowns, hangar, etc. unless threatening weather requires protective action.

  • If the airplane has a mechanical problem away from home, give us a call. We will confer with a mechanic and pay you back.

  • We can give instruction in your airplane, also. As long as it has more than one seat.
